Depression

These are things I felt God telling me to write, please don't get mad at me if you don't agree with what I wrote, thank you :)

Alot of you have probably noticed that people are having depression. It could even be you going through depression. I want to help those people going through that right now. And encourage those who are helping them also.

Depression is not from God. It's something from the devil, that draws you away from God. But when you have Godly people in your life, it helps you. Depression can draw you away from God, but it can also draw you closer to God than you ever have been. (But I'm most definitely not saying that depression is good)  Remember when I posted about life being a tightrope? Well, depression is something that will make you slip. It will make you unbalanced. But once you get back on by God's help, you feel closer to God, and you put a tighter grip on his hand.

Why is there depression and things in the world? Well, it started with Adam and Eve sinning. It came with the curse. Of course, God did not create that. You don't hear alot about depression in the bible, but I'm pretty sure people had depression in the bible, they just didn't call it that. The bible doesn't directly talk about depression but there are many verses that apply to depression. I want to show you some and talk about them.

Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."

Alot of times, depression starts when the person says untrue things about themselves. Even other people telling them those things, such as, "You were an accident; you should be dead; why are loved, ha, you're the last person that should be loved, or even God doesn't love you no one does so get used to it you'll never be loved." Anything like that. Once those things go into their head they don't go out, they get bigger and bigger, taking over. The person starts to believe those things said to them. They are letting Satan take them over. They get stressed, start failing school, and they can start cutting. Cutting alot of times make them feel as if they're letting out stress, but God didn't create us to just to hurt ourselves or for people to hurt us. I say again, God created us for a purpose and a reason!!

Deuteronomy 31:8,  "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." 

Just like the verse says, God will never leave you. People her have depression also sometimes think that God has forgotten them. Or that they're not important enough to be known by God. Each and everyone is important to God. God will never ever leave one of you out. He knitted us together in our mother's womb. Of course, he didn't really knit us together. But they are saying that God knew what we were going to look like, do, and love. He knows what's ahead of us and he knows what's behind us. He leads us on a straight path, but we don't always listen. We can take another road, and that leads to where we are, depression. But then God comes and saves us, he redirects us.

Psalm 34:17, "The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles."  

When God hears your prayers, your cries for help, he will answer them. I know, "But I have been calling, he still hasn't answered," you say. God doesn't always answer right after your cries. God's timing is perfect, not like our timing. God knows what time your prayers need to be answered, it could be soon after, or in time. We just have to be patience and trust in God, he knows what we need and when we need it. It might seem like years, and it might be years. He wants your trust to grow in him. Your love for him to grow, and he wants you to grow in his image, and grow to be more like him. He tells us in the bible that no one is perfect, but his children must grow in his image, to become like him.

John 16:33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

And

Romans 8:38-39,"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

These two verses have similar meanings. God is telling us that nothing can take us away from him. We can fall away from him, but there will never be anything that will take us away from God forever. The Lord is the ruler of the whole universe. He can do anything, nothing is impossible for God; and there is no one who can stop him. This is hard for us to believe, because, on earth, people have limitations. We can be afraid of many things, but nothing can make God afraid. He will take care of his children, he is the Shepherd and we are the Lambs. The Shepherd will never leave his Lamb to be eaten by the wolf. Christians get hurt, killed, and many other things from the evil people. But do you know what happen to the people are get hurt? They get to help others going through the same situation, their trust grows in the Lord.  What happens to the killed? They go to the perfect place, Heaven. There is no evil there, no sickness, sadness, madness, or anything like that. God is there, and Heaven is perfect. We will live there for forever, which is also hard for us to understand. On earth, there is an end to everything. There is no end to heaven, and there is no end to the people who go up to Heaven. Everything happens for a reason.

Asking God

When you ask God a question, or ask him what do do, how do you hear him, or know what he's saying?


1, If you ask God a question that is a yes or no question (example: should i go on a mission trip or stay home and save money?), you'll feel peaceful about the right answer.

2, You feel God speaking to you through the bible.

3, He speaks to you through someone.

4, You hear him audibly.



1, Alot times you'll ask God a question. Sometimes when you pray about the right answer, you feel peaceful, and every weight on your shoulders has been lifted, then you should know your answer. When you pray about the other answer you'll feel as if weight is just being added onto you, and this answer is not from God. Sometimes you don't feel anything. Then maybe you need to read your bible and talk to your pastor.

2, Reading the Bible is a great thing. God can speak to you through the the verses your reading. Some people come up and say, 'God is telling me to tell you to read _________" And once you read that Verse or whatever, you'll feel what God is telling you. Have you guy's read your whole bible? Did you just read because you had and you didn't really think about what God is telling you. Read that bible, and really think about what's in the bible.

3, Alot times God will come to another person, and tell them to tell someone something. He could do that to you. They'll come to you and say 'I feel like God is telling em tell you ____" or something. Or they could come and give you a bible verse, like I said above. Now, if someone comes to you and tells you not to do something, but you feel like God is telling you to do it. Then I think you need to pray some more and really talk to God.

4, Now, this happened ALOT in the bible, but it's not as common now. God still talks to you audibly, or he sends an angel down. But most of the time, God speaks to someone another way. God could totally still talk to you audibly. I'm not saying it's impossible, i'm just saying don't believe the only way God will talk to you is audibly. That is not true. God can speak to you through anything. A picture, a person, a article, a video, a message, a verse, and a trip even. God can do anything.


I've never really had God talk to me yet. But I believe that one day, i'm going to need help, and he's the one i'm going to go to, and he's going to talk to me.

The Tightrope Called Life

Life is like a tightrope. I know, weird, but just finish reading this post, you'll understand.


Your walking a a tightrope. Not alone, God's there holding your hand. He's there balancing you. And if you let go, he'll stay and walk beside you. If you fall, there's always a way up. If a person helps you back up, catches you, or even if you climb a tree. There's a way, just keep looking. And once you get back up, you have God, you can tighten your grip on his hand. And when you reach the end, you'll have peace and joy forever. If you keep your hold on God and Jesus.


This came to me when I was praying one night at a conference this month. Ya'll are welcome to use it. :)

Some of my Thoughts

Ok so I know I've been not posting well, or even keeping my promises, I am super super sorry about that. I've just had so much school and other things going on, I forgot about my blog. I hope I haven't lost any readers in that time. Now today I felt like sharing my thoughts. Hope you enjoy :)


Being an mk can be tough. In the summer kids usually go to camp, hang out with friends everyday, or go do something for the day or weekend. Some mks do do that, but not me. I don't have any neighbors, camps are expensive, and I don't speak the language. Most of my day is texting my friends on the computer and reading. I'm always thinking about how it would be so cool if a girl my age who speaks English would come and move next door. That is possible, but it would be very rare. I have a best friend online, and a best friend who lives 10 mins away from me on a base, I can't go on very easily. I pray everyday, hoping to find a best friend right next to where I live.

Do you ever read those books, and you wish you had a life like a person in the book? Every book I've ever read, I've had that thought in my head at least two times. But those books aren't real, most people don't have lives like that. Nobody lives a perfect life. Many may think they are living perfectly, but no one is perfect. Only God is.  

Where I live, I call it my home. But my sisters don't really call it their home, they rather be in the US. I love the USA and when i go there every 4 years, I love it. I have neighbors, foods that I can eat. It's amazing, but it's not my home. It's like a year vacation. My oldest sister is going to college this year, so it's going to be a big change to have only 4 people in the house. We're so used to moving so much, it will be a change for my sister to stay in one spot for so long. The longest we have stayed in one house was 3 years. We are similar to military kids, but instead we don't live on a base, and have English speaking neighbors, or American stores and restaurants. XD


I've had alot of trouble recently about finding what I'm really good at. Alot of people have those trouble. Some people find what their really good at very easily, and some take a long time. It is also hard for me to find out what I'm good at because the things I like, are hard to do here. Of course I'm not complaining, I love where I live, and I would never change it.

The World Without Mks

What would the world be like if there were no mks? Well here are a couple descriptions on what it would be like:


*Less Missionaries

**Kids would be much more sad

***Not as many people would be Christians

****The world wound't be as bright




*Alot missionaries now were mks. They watched their parents do work, and they felt called to do it. Yes of course there would be missionaries, but there'd not be as many as there is today.

**Alot mks are in countries were the kids are poor and there is saddens there. That's where mks come in. They go to the kids, play, talk, and interact with them. They become friends and best friends. They give the kids happier spirits and liven up the life. If the mks weren't there, their life might be depressed, and alot of them might even would die depressed.

***It's true, not as many would be. I once read a story (forgot what it was called) about a guy who didn't want to become a christian, if an adult came to him and tried to talk to him about God, he would tell them to go. He was dying so they wanted him to become a Christian. So one day a girl mk came to him with a bible, he shooed her away. She came back the next day but he shooed her away, but not a mean. She kept going to him every singe day. After a long time of her going to him, he finally let her read from to bible to him. She came everyday and read him parts of the bible. Finally one day once she was there, he told her he wanted to become a christian, he did become. This was a true story. The adults were giving up on him, but that one mk didn't give up on him. She knew that God wanted him to become a christian. Without that mk, the guy wouldn't have became a christian. Alot times kids need other kids to help them believe, but now you know adults even need mks to help them know God.

****Mks brighten up the world. Mks have ideas that are amazing, they go into where they live and try to liven up the world. Where I live, I don't always see alot of people smile. So every time I go somewhere I make sure to smile. Not a fake smile, smirky smile, buy an encouraging smile. Sometimes the person I smile at comes up to me and says I made their day. You can brighten up the world just by smiling. A smile can tell them not to worry, God's with them. Sometimes mks would go up to people and say 'God's with you'. Mks sometimes care for people more that adults can. Not usually with money, but with love from the heart which God lives in. Mks have more passion and liveliness. They don't give up, they keep brightening up the world.

Thursday (Skipping Tuesday and Wednesday)

So yes, i'm going to skip Tuesday and Wednesday, because they were exactly the same as Monday. So you would get very bored, but Thursday got some stuff going on :). So here's Thursday!:


I got up around 7:30, I did my chore and ate breakfast. I fed my guinea pigs and took my dog out. I read my Bible from 8:00 to 8:15, then my dad came in and we started our family devotions. Right now we are going through the Narnia books. After we read a chapter we do a short devotion about the chapter that we just read. We are reading, 'The Horse and His Boy' right now. After devotions I worked on my school. My mom and sisters left to go somewhere at 11:30. I did school until 2:00. At that time, I went down on the 1st floor outside. My dad teaches a car class, and right now we are doing finals. We have to do hands on things on the car. My best friend and one of her brothers were there waiting for their turn. I watched as my best friend and her brother took the test. Then after they left, my mom got home with my sisters and she took me to piano. I have piano every Thursday at 3:30. Once I got home from piano, three more of our friends arrive and my sisters came down, we took the test with them.  It was about 5:40 when we were done with the test, we went to the park for 20 mins then our friends left and my sisters and I came home and ate pizza for dinner. At 6:30 my sisters and I had to go down to the 2nd floor to practice with the worship team. This Sunday is youth Sunday, that is when the youths participate in the service, i'm on the worship and i'm singing a special song with my best friend, plus my oldest sister is playing the piano for the special song. This Sunday through Tuesday is also our yearly church camping trip :D. Worship practice ended around 8:30 to 9:00, after that my best friend and her mom (the worship leader) came up and hung out for another 30 minutes. After they left, I got ready for bed and read. I fell asleep and 10:45-11:00.

Monday

Monday:

I had my alarm set at 7:00am, but I didn't get up till 7:30am. I took the dog outside and fed my guinea pigs. I got dressed and went into the LDK (Living room, dining room, and kitchen). Because I got up late I couldn't do my daily chore in the morning, so I planned to do it at lunch. I looked at the clock and noticed that it was 8:30, I went to get my bible, I read until my dad came in for family devotions. That ended at 9:30am. After that I got my school stuff and started school. I did piano, spelling, grammar, writing and reading in the morning. When I was done with those things i noticed it was 12:30, lunch started and 12:00 and ended at 1:00. SO I got up and got my lunch. Because I had started my lunch late I couldn't do my chore......again. I started school back up around 1:15. I did my french. I got distracted and forgot about my math. By the time I remembered it, it was dinner time. My middle sister was out babysitting. I cleared my stuff off the table and and got a plate for me. I put my food on my plate and sat down at the table and waited for the rest of my family.  We ate dinner and cleaned up the kitchen.  After diner I finally did my chore. Then I grabbed my laundry I needed to fold and turned on the tv. I watched one show when my dad took the remote and put on a movie. The movie ended around 10:15.  I had finished folding, I put them nicely back into the basket and went to get ready for bed. By the time my dad prayed ti was 10:45. I read for 5 mins and turned of my light. I set my alarm, turned on my fan, and fell asleep at 11:00.


Yes I know, I know. Monday is boring, but that is my typical Monday, really. Sometimes there're are other things, but usually that's my day. Comment if you have any questions!

Sunday (So Sorry!!)

Oh my goodness guys, I am so sorryyyy!! I was so busy Sunday I totally forgot about posting on my blog. So here is Sunday and I will also post Monday today. ;)


Sunday:

So we live above our church on the 5th floor. We just moved in here. When we lived in another house 8 mins from our church we all had to leave at the same time. But now we can just take the elevator down whenever. So I usually wake up around 8 on Sunday. I get up and take my dog outside, feed my guinea pigs, and go say good morning to my parents. I usually get on my computer and check my stuff, and jump in the shower (if I have too). Then once i'm out I get dressed and eat. I usually get down on the 1st floor around 9-9:30. The 1st floor is our cafe area so I hang out around there with my best friend and her brothers. Their mother is the worship leader so she has to get there early to practice. If it's nice out sometimes my best friend and I take her brothers to the park. Church starts at 10:30, and sometimes I have to work in preschool or nursery and I have to be in one of those by 10:15. I am the back up for nursery and preschool, so alot of times I have to go in there with another lady. Like today I had to go into the nursery. We had four kids in there, two 18 months old, a crazy 3 year old, and a 2 year old. Church ended around 12:00 and the parents came and picked up their kids, I finished cleaning the nursery and went out. Most people come down to the 1st floor and talk. I just hung around, said hi to some people, and tried not to get hit by rubber bands. My family and my best friend's family decided to go out for lunch. (We had nothing in our fridge or covered lol) We were going to go to a Mexican restaurant but they were full, so we went to an Indian one. After that we went to our house for about 30 seconds then my oldest sister and I went to our friends house for about 30 mins. After that we met the rest of my family and went to a movie. After the movie we took my best friend and her brother to youth group. Our youth group is on the 6th floor. We got up there and started playing a card game. I was partners with my best friend. After the card game we got snacks and watched our devotion video. We talked about the video and then youth group was over. I helped my dad clean up and went back down to my house. (My dad is the pastor of the church and he also does youth group.) I wanted to watch a show but my mom said to eat first because I hadn't eaten dinner yet. I got out leftover chili and ate that. I started my show, it ended around 10:15. I got up and got ready for bed. I share a bedroom with my middle sister. (Our house is small, our dining room, living room, and kitchen is all in the same area which was about as big as our old house's living room. Then there are 3 bedrooms, a shower and a bathroom.) I set my alarm to 7:00 and fell asleep around 11:00.

Annoying and fun things =D

Hiya guys! So I'm going to show you some things that annoy mks, tcks, and pks etc; plus things that are fun about being an mk.....ya I know kind of confusing but you'll get it once I start.



One of the most annoying things some one can ask an mk or tck is, where are you from? Yes it is very annoying, because alot times some one is born some where and raised some where else of where they were born. So you have to explain the whole thing, and sometimes it takes a long time.

Some people come up and start asking you all these deep questions. Yes, and I was only like 11 when people asked me that kind of things. I would only answer half the question sometimes and it wasn't always super accurate, it was so hard to answer.





The best part, on my view,  of being these three things are all the traveling with your family. I loved staying in hotels, and spending all day in the car listening to music, movies, and joking around. Yes, i would get frustrated or mad because of being stuck in the car all day, but I love traveling.   I got closer to my family, and got to spend ALOT of family time. xD

Another cool thing about being a pk is you know alot of things about the church. People ask you questions about the church like your important. And most of the time you know the answers ;). You know everybody in the church, and your the back up if you need help some where. Sometimes people say that can't work in the nursery so I have to go in there with another person.  I live in the same building as our church so I can go up if i need something and go down for church whenever.

The Trip =)

Hey ya''ll! Ok, so I mentioned before that I was going to go to the place of the earthquake, well, we did.

We woke up at 6:00 am and got dressed and ate. The people said it was going to take probably around 5 to 6 hours to get there, but we got there in 3 hours. Along the way we didn't see any houses fallen down but we saw some with parts of the wall out or side ways. Most of the houses had blue tarps on their roofs, because the roof had cracked and the rain would of gotten into the house. Our first stop was a church. It had no damage except for a brick wall had fallen apart. We loaded off all our donations there and went around the church. We left and went to our second stop. We pulled into his dirt parking lot and that's when we gasped.  The grownd had cracked and split about a foot apart. The right part was a couple inches lower than the other side.  We went inside and he showed us the damages done. The ground had sunken in about 2 inches in the backyard. The sidewalk was cracked. Basically the ground and sunken in about 5 to inches all the neighbor hood. After that we went inside. He showed us the cracks on the floor and walls, and how the doors couldn't close all the way. Then he took us the the roof top. We saw from there a neighbor who had a super long crack in their drive way. The pastor took us down and into a room. My dad and him talked and we took some pictures. Then we headed home. The highway was still blocked off from a landslide there.  So we had to take back roads, or the scenery way.

The Hard Ships (Yes there are hardships and sadness)

Hey, guys! Ok, being a mk is the best thing in my life, but there are scary moments to being a mk. Last week at 10:00pm we had an earthquake. It was a 3.0 here but where it came from was 4 and a half  an hour away from us. It was a 7.0  there. About 9-15 people died, and 50-70 people were hospitalized. There were many aftershocks but one thing surprised us again. The next night at 1:30am there was a very strong earthquake. It lasted for about 10 seconds. It came from the same place but this time, it was a 4.3 here and a 7.6 there. A lot more people died, were hospitalized, and MANY people are on the streets without homes or they were living in churches.  We hope to go down there in two weeks for giving donations like food, blankets, water. etc. Now these are a very sad thing and I am not saying it is not bad but there are many other worse things that can happen while being a mk. Now I am definitely NOT telling you to not become a mk. We need mks. All I am saying is being a mk is not all about traveling and living in different worlds. That's why we go to a missionary school every four years. They train us for the mission field. Some things we had to do was: eat weird foods, go into a helicopter (some people have to get where they live by a helicopter), my older sis had to go to a boot camp; they couldn't take shampoo, desserts, or anything that you live with, in a house. (but they snuck stuff) They brought bathing suits to go to the river and wash there. They slept in canopies and had a whole in the ground with a canvas around it for a toilet. I was reading the book Teresa of Calcutta today and let me tell you, I was about to cry. It was about Christian nuns who live India and they have a whole bunch of hospital for people who won't get taken in by the city hospital. One for kids, a couple for adults, and then when I stopped reading they had just decided to bring supplies and medicine to the lepers town. The lepers performed a play and even baby Jesus had leprosy. I have alot of missionary books about very sad stories. Some people might wonder how they stand such hardships and sadness. They stand because God is standing with them. If God wasn't there they might be discouraged or not able to handle the pressure and sadness. God's the reason people are able to stand through hardships.  So if people go through hardships and sadness without God, it will be really hard. God is the one who gets people through. Just remember that God is always there through hardships and sadness and will NEVER leave you to go through them by yourselves.

Be still in the busyness.

Ok so i have two older sisters and no brothers. So last friday two boys one 3 one 6 came to stay with us for 8-9 days. And let me tell you, boys are alot of work!! Later that day their 15 year old sister came. She and I have been watching the boys most of the time cause my sisters have school. My mom made a schedule so it is a little bit easier to follow that. But my goodness! One of them is a chatter box, and the other one is tries to play with the dog, but he is more like chasing and choking the dog. We also are having are building painted so there are workers and loud noises. It si super crazy right now. It has been so busy i have been forgetting about God. On sunday my dad preached about being still and talking to God.  Psalm 46:10 says, "He says 'Be still and know that i am God."'. Sometimes we need to get somewhere my ourselves and just get reconnected to God. No matter how busy you are you need to fight for quietness. Whether if it's early in the morning or at midnight, God will be there in the quietness.

Prayer and God

Hey guys! Ok so today I wanted to share with you some things i was thinking about:

So when i grow up i want to be a horse farmer and a baker. But now i really feel a passion for horses. Where i live now there no horses, but where i lived in America there was a horse camp and stuff. But the only place you can ride horses here is SUPER expensive. So i have been praying alot about, but nothing has come up. And i started to feel like i should just give up, that nothing was going to turn up. Maybe horses aren't just for me, maybe God has something else planned. But i just couldn't help feeling a passion for horses. I couldn't get horses out of my mind. So i decided to keep praying about it. It might not be what God has planned but it is my passion and love.

Don't ever give up on praying even if God doesn't answer right away.  God will answer your prayer either as a yes or no. I haven't gotten my answer yet and i have been praying for almost a month. Yesterday i all of a sudden started sing a song about prayer (I made it up as i went :p):

Everyday we pray for protection
Everyday we pray for your love
Everyday we pray for your guidance, Lord
Everyday we pray, we pray


Everyday we pray and thank you for your love
Everyday we pray and thank you for sending your son

God will listen and he will help you. He might do it in time or slowly. God allows stuff to happen so we pray to him and rely on him more. He will not let things happen to you that you can't handle, or that will be too much. Don't forget to read the bible and trust in God. God is always there, do not forget that!

Rachel an mk to China

Hi guys! Sorry i haven't posted in a long time, i've been busy. Ok so lets get started. So this is a story i wrote about a real mk. She is now a mom, but this is about her time in China.:

Rachel woke up Sunday morning and did her regular 4 year old routine. Get dressed and try to do her hair; which her mom had to fix.  And drive to church telling her parents how she was excited to go to her preschool class; she thought this was the same Sunday as all the other ones. But never did she know that that day her life would change for the rest of her life. 
                This Sunday instead of the Pastor preaching, a missionary to China talked about well…China. She noticed that after that Sunday her parents were praying a lot more than usual. Then one day they told little Rachel they were moving to China to be missionaries. All Rachel understood was that she had to leave her friends and go to a strange place. She was still 4 years old when they moved to China. Her parents always were talking to Students from college, and they were sometimes crying or praising God. She could never really talk the other little kids, so she only really could talk to God, her dolls, and her toys. Life was going kind of slow. Once she was eight she started learning Chinese, it was hard so it took 3 years to learn. Once she knew it she could make friends and go the movies that were in Chinese. She had been going to an International school, so now it was easier to talk there too.  Her family and she went on many mission trips, some to Thailand, and in the country side.   

                She was 14 when she went back to America; she now looks back at the good memories in China when she was an mk. Even though sometimes she was lonely, she loved being in China.  

Yes Rachel is now a mom and is married, but that doesn't mean she is not an mk anymore. Once an mk, forever an mk. You don't 'retire' from being an mk. But some people are mks, but then when they grow up they become missionaries.

A recipe

I just kinda made this up and i thought it might be kinda fun, hope you guys make it and like it!:


  •       First pick out your favorite country you have lived in     
  •            Then pick out your favorite flavor they have on that country
  • ·         Figure out the countries colors
  • ·         Find a recipe of a cake that is flavored with the flavor you picked out
  • ·         Make and bake the cake
  • ·         Find an icing recipe
  • ·         Make the icing
  • ·         Then dye the icing with the colors of the country
  • ·         Then ice the cake
  • ·         Decorate the cake
  • ·         Then serve it

1.    It can be anywhere but it must a place with a flag, or specific colors.
2.    You can pick a ANY flavor but just be aware that the flavor will be in a cake
3.    So it might be the flag colors, or if it has specific colors you can use those too
4.    Just look it up on the internet, example: Strawberry cake recipe or Pineapple cake recipe. So just look it up like that bit with the flavor you chose.
5.    Follow the recipe and make and bake the cake (xD yes I know it rhymes kinda)
6.    So with my icing I make one batch just to ice the cake not doing much decorating and one batch for me is about 3 cups icing sugar. SO I would do 2 to 3 batches of icing, but it depends on how much you want to decorate the cake, so try to start with two batches, you can always make more.
7.    Follow the recipe and make the icing set it aside if it is going to be awhile before the cake is ready then put the icing in the fridge if it is hot out.  
8.    Dye the icing, but make sure you keep about half of it to the side if you want the base coating to be white, if not dye it the color you want. And then split up the other half on how many parts of colors you have left, and dye it.
9.    Put on the base coat on the cake make sure you can’t see the cake.
10. Then decorate it with the dyed icing, you make the country’s flag, writ something, or anything
11. Then serve it!! If you’re going to serve in a couple hours or tomorrow make sure to put in the fridge.

The story (part three)

Ok here is part three of the story, enjoy:

“So this is the market street, huh?” Asked Pastor Jake. “Yup this is the one and only where we live.” Rosa said back. They turned into a store full of meat and vegetables. “Ok my mom said we need to get some chicken and some kind of vegetable. So you go get the chicken and I will get..um…broccoli.” Instructed Rose “Roger that Miss. Rosabella.” Replied Pastor Jake. Rosa rolled her eyes has she turned into the green vegetable isle. “Roger that Miss. Rosabella” Mimicked some one behind her ‘Thomson’ Thought Rosa. Thomson was the school bully, Rosa had been trying to find a way to make him stop being mean. Rosabella didn’t turn around when she heard him. Instead she just kept in walking to try to find the broccoli. “Hey! I am talking to you!” Yelled Thomson. All of a sudden she felt a push from her back. She turned around swiftly and yelled. “Leave me alone Thomson. I need to get back to shopping”  “Leave me alone Thomson” Thomson mimicked again. Rosa snarled at him and turned around. She put some broccoli in her hand and started to walk away. “I never said I was done with you. I have been planning to ketch you alone.” Said Thomson, “And now look. Here you are all alone in a store shopping for your little family” Rosa started backing away. “You can’t mess with me Thomson I am protected.” “Where is your protector. Invisible?” “Not quite, you know who he is Thomson. The God of Gods. The King of Kings. The Lord is my protector.”  All of a sudden Thomson and his buddies burst out laughing. They started to walk faster toward her, they had smirks on their faces and evil in their eyes. Rosa could go back no more. The isle ended, she pushed back against the wall. “Leave me alone Thomson! GO!” But Thomson and his friends just kept on walking. Then all of a sudden Pastor Jake pushed them away. “Rosabella! Are you okay? Did they hurt you??” Asked Pastor Jake “I’m fine thanks.” Replied Rosa. “Who are those boys?” Asked Pastor Jake.   “They are the school bullies. They mess with all the girls and boys at the school who are smaller than them.” Rosabella replied. “Ok well we better start walking back to the house.” Said Pastor Jake. Rosa and Pastor Jake bought the food and started on the walk back home.
“Wow. Those boys can be mean looking. I am just glad you are ok. A girl your age wouldn’t be able to keep those boys back.” Said Pastor “Yes they are mean. But I am an mk I could of kept them away.” Replied Rosa. “I don’t know about that Rosabella. Mks are not that capable. You should be glad that I was there” Rosa was mad at the Thomson and now she was mad at Pastor Jake. She shoved the broccoli at Pastor Jake and ran the rest of the way home.
She stomped into her room slammed the door. After cooling down Rosa decided to read her daily devotion. Today's was about that some things are only possible with God. Her three verses for the day were: John 15:5, Mathew 19:26, and Philippians 4:13. Right then and now she prayed, “Dear God, I am so sorry I have been ignoring you. I have been trying to accomplish things without you. Please come and help me want I want to accomplish. I want your help Lord, Jesus. In Jesus name, Amen.”
“Welcome to the kids and teen concert!” Pastor Jake and Rosabella said in together. Today Pastor Jake and Rosabella were holding a kids a teen concert in the stadium. It was full like crazy. Rosabella asked help from God and friends and family. The teens and kids split up and had a bible study, did games, and challenges.
It was after the concert and everyone was sitting in the living room. “I have a toast to make. I want to thank Rosabella for making be believe that mks are very important. To mks!” Pastor Jake said “To mks!” Yelled everyone. Rosabella learned that all things need God in it. And Pastor Jake learned that mks can do amazing things.

The story (part 2)

Here is the second part my the story, enjoy: 


Rosa looked at her watch and sighed. “I don’t know if anyone else is going to show up Rosa. We’ve been waiting for an hour already.” Said Rosa’s best friend Linette. “You don’t know that Linette. People might just be running late” Replied Rosa. “I don’t know about that. We said 3 o-clock not 4.” Replied Linette. “Oh I guess you’re right. No is going to show up.” Said Rosa. Linette and Rosa got up and started to clean up the stuff they had gotten out for the bible study. “I am so sorry Rosa. I thought people would show up. Maybe God doesn’t want you to tell what people can do through a bible study.” “It’s Not your fault Linette. Maybe we were too pushy or something.  I just wish-“ Rosa was interrupted by a phone call. “Hello,” Rosa said into the phone, “Yes, uh-huh, oh sorry. Bye.” “Who was that?” Asked Linette. “It was Pastor Paul. He said that his daughter was hoping to see me at the service today.” Replied Rosa. “Did you know there was something going on at church today, Linette? “Not that I can re-. Wait my mom did say that the rest of my family was going to the church after they dropped me off.” Linette replied back. “But who would be preaching besides Pastor Paul?” Asked Rosa. “Pastor Jake” They said together.
Rosa and Linette and tried to do a tea party, a day care and even a dog wash. But nothing had had a good turnout. Rosa wanted to give up so badly. Maybe people were right. Maybe mks can’t do anything big. 

“But mom! I am old enough to go by myself!” Whined Rosa. Mrs. Shmitt had asked Rosa to go to the store to get food for dinner with Pastor Jake. Now Rosa was standing her mom’s bedroom protesting.  “Enough of the whining Rosa. I want you to go with someone, and that someone is Pastor Jake. I am too tired to go, your dad is working, and your sister and brother are gone. Now that is final. Now go and ask Pastor Jake to go with you before I go ask him myself.” Replied Mrs. Shmitt. Knock Knock. “Come in” Said Pastor Jake. “Um Pastor Jake…I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind waling with me to the market. I have to get some food for my mom. And my mom doesn’t want me to go alone.” “Of course. I just thinking of getting up and stretching my legs.”

A little story about an mk (part one)

Hiya guys! So i just wrote this story and i wanted to share it with you. I will split it into 2-3 days. So here is the first part. Hope you enjoy it: 

“Rosabella, get your books off the floor! And don’t make me come in there and tell you AGAIN to hang up your clothes!” Called Mrs. Shmitt. “Ok, going mom!” Rosa replied. Rosabella, also known as Rosa by her friends and family, is an mk (Missionary Kid) to Thailand. Right now her family is getting their house ready for another visitor. This time it is a pastor of a big church from Arizona.  Just before her mom called her she was reading her book of ideas.
She was reading her book of ideas because she was hoping the next person to come visit her would like to hear her ideas. But the pastor from Arizona was like all the other ones. He would sit in the living room with Rosa’s parents and only ask Rosabella’s parents questions. This guy was staying longer than usual, so she decided to do something about why people would not listen to mks.  
After a week of Pastor Jake arriving her 7 year old brother and 15 year old sister were starting to like Pastor Jake. One day while reading her book of ideas, Rosa stood up and shouted, “I know what to do!!” She went to go find her mom, but Mrs. Shmitt was out shopping. So she sat on the door step and waited for her mom.  
“Mooom! I have been planning this for a week now and you have told me all the rules hundreds of times. I know what to do. I am 13 years old not 6 years old.” Said Rosa, as she stood in the door way of the front door.  “I know, I know. I just don’t want you to get into to trouble honey.” Replied Mrs. Shmitt.  What Rosabella had been planning for a week was a bible study for girls her age and younger. She had posted on the internet, put up posters, and made an announcement about it in school. She was super excited about it, this bible study is also part of the plan to change people minds about mks.

Finish up here first

Hey guys! I wanted to show you that this world is not good at all. The are many things in it we wish there wasn't. People might think that this world is all we got once we die we just die. But WRONG we go to a better place. The place where nobody can describe. I wrote this paragraph today  and i wanted to share it with you guys: 

Calmness, no meanness, love, peaceful- that is where I want to live. If there was a place like that somewhere in the world I would go to live there; that would be my dream home.  A place that is as happy as a laugh. It is like when you joy goes up a million times when you’re laughing with your family, friends, and your-self. It has beauty as beautiful as tons of waterfalls flowing all at once. Green, orange and red leaves dance around it. Wind sings; flowers sway to the music. Sun shines on the ground and lights up the grounds, as if it was the spotlight.  If only there was a place like this on earth, but there is a place like this but not on earth this place is: heaven.                                              

But before we go there we have to finish i lives on earth. God wants us to go out into all the world and preach the good news. That means everyone including mks. He just want to sit around and wait for us to go up. No, he wants us to go and have the most people we can to become believers in Christ. If we just go and tell people stuff and we aren't confident, we don't trust in God, or believe strongly, then not many people will come. There will be a time when Jesus comes and takes up to heaven, but there i so many things we could to do before we go up. But most importantly we need to let all the people in the world know that God loves them and that he is there for them. If you are thinking: I want to do this but what am i doing this for. You doing this for the lives of people who need to be saved. Yes there will be a reward in heaven but that is not why we are doing this, just to get a reward. We are doing this so many more people will go to heaven. Did God die on the cross just because he knew that he knew that he would get a reward be more popular? No, God died on the cross so people could get their sins taken and more people would start believing. Yes alot of this can be very hard work but God will be with you all the time. He will guide you, love you, watch over you, and care for you. He isn't there JUST to make sure you are making right decisions and if you don't just there to punish you. No!  God doesn't treat us like puppets, he lets us make our own choice. And that choice should be staying on the right path while helping people believe. Now i am not saying that if you don't become a missionary, a pastor, etc; that you won't stay on the right path Not at all!  What i am saying is that no matter what your job is, no matter where you live, and no matter if nobody likes you, you are here to let people know about God and Jesus. If you have hard times just know that you will get to heaven if you stay on the right path, and that God is with you no matter what.

Mks are important!

Hiya guys! So today i am going to tell you about mks (of course i am) *rolls eyes at my self*

Ok ok ok enough of that stuff--did i just say enough of joking and laughing?! Somebody help meh!!! Brb......k back....now where were we oh,ya *cries and yells and screams* WOW! Ok now we can get talking about mks! ;p xDD

Ok so you might think why are there mks? They can't do stuff that their parents do. OH YES THEY CAN! Mks are very important too. Without them kids who need to be reached might not be. Mks can hold bible studies for kids your age, or they could make a club. There are so many things you can do. Never think that mks are there for no reason. That is why they are called Missionary Kids, they are Missionaries! Just because you are younger doesn't mean you don't have wisdom or/and the strength to be a Missionary. Have you eve heard stories about how some people only became Christians cause an mk never gave up talking to them about God and Jesus. Some people don't like adults talking to them about that stuff, so kids talk to them. What if there were no mks?  I am 99.99% sure that there would be less people on earth who are Christians if there were no mks. 1 Chronicles 16:24 says, "Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples." Does it say 'Adults declare' no, the person who is talking is talking to everyone. Don't worry about not having God with you if you do something. Psalm 139:9-10 says: If i rise on the wings of the dawn, if i settle on the far side of the see, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast." This verse is say no matter where you are God is with you, no matter what you do God is with you always. God loves children, he doesn't think cause you are young he shouldn't spend his time on them. God LOVES children. We are the children of God. WE ARE HIS CHILDREN!! God would never forget about mks. NEVER! So just remember that mks/children are very important, and that God will always be with you and love you.

Becoming and being an mk.......there is a meaning to your life

Hey guys! Ok so today i am going to show how some kids become mks, and that your life has a meaning to it! Hope you enjoy it :) :


Ok so everyone is an mk, any one can preach the good news. But if your thinking like kids who are appointed mks, they are called mks well they can't become one by them selves. First off their parents must become missionaries. You have to go to training and lots of meetings.  Well i was born an mk, but we were in a different district then we are in now. We have to go back to the states every 4 years. We stay in the states for a year and raise funds. And then go back and another 4 years. I grew up being an mk and traveling so i am used to it. When we are in America we ride in the car for like 7 to 10 hours a day. I like traveling, it makes me grow closer to my family.  But some mks hate it, they just want to live a normal life. Being an mk can be hard, you have to go where your parents go. You don't go to only one church the whole time your are in America. Every Wednesday and Sunday you go to a new church and your parents preach or give a little talk. You make new friends every where you go, that is another reason why some people don't like being an mk. Some people have a hard time making friends, they wish they could just live in the same place while growing having the same friends. They ask God why he put them in this life style, some say that if they had a choice to live a 'regular' life they would take it. But not me. God put me in this life for a reason. I accept being an mk. You should accept who you are and what your life style is.  I  once heard some one tell this story:
"I asked the ladies if they could be anyone they wanted to be who would it be. I could tell they were thinking about because they were scratching their head and turning to the person to next to them. Then i told them that i had a picture of who i wanted to be, i had some ladies come up and see if the person i wanted to be was who they wanted to be. All of them shook their head no. The picture was a mirror" (If you know who said this comment and tell me please :D) Probably most of those ladies would say that they would not be who they were. God didn't put you in a horrible life style just because, there is a meaning to it.

Having a pet overseas

Hey! So today i am going to give you a story about having a pet overseas. Hope this won't be boring! I am going to something more interesting tomorrow!  Ok so if you live overseas with a pet then you might like this paper. If you don't live overseas that doesn't matter you don't need to live overseas to read about mks! ;)

Should you own an animal friend, or eat it instead? Having a pet overseas is one of the most important things for being a mk overseas. Sometimes mks can live in dangerous places.  Either where Christians are not allowed in the country, or there are many robberies and crime. A good way to have a pet protect your house is: they could sleep outside and if they hear someone they could set off an alarm, to tell you that someone is trying to break in. If you only have small pet, they could still sleep outside but they could push a button that would warn you.
Pets can also teach you responsibility, on taking care of something by yourself.  The most important things you need to do for your pet is: keep the food and water bowl full, exercise your pet daily (if you can), and give it a lot of attention every day. If you don’t do these things for your pet, they will get sick and DIE! Ok maybe I shouldn’t exaggerate that much, but I am serious, your pet will not live long, or they will get mean.  Your parents, I imagine, would help you if you couldn’t keep up with these things, or can’t handle the responsibility.

If you live in a country that you can’t speak the language in, a pet would be a great friend to have.  Animals, no matter where they were born, get used to the language you speak. Sometimes they get to know you so well they know when you are sad, happy, or mad. Even if you are in a country that you know the language but don’t have friends, see if you could get a pet. It doesn’t matter what size or kind it is. They will be your best friend! (most likely) In some countries people even eat every kind of animals. So what do you think, should your pet be your pet, or your dinner?

I little bit of advice about God's love for you and how you love others (Mom)

Hey again! I just wanted to share with you a little bit of advice my friend gave me:

Just some advice to you, even if you're mom says something you don't agree with. Something that annoys you, be glad she feeds you, she cares for you, and she loves you. She's still there with you physically,and while she's still there hug her every morning, ask her if she needs help with anything, thank her for anything she does even if it can be annoying. Life is short, and to understand death is not possible. Just care for her like she cares for you, because one day, she won't be there with you physically anymore. You should learn to love your family this way, before there all gone. And you're the only one left. God loves you guys, and so love others that way. :) 

Just Try!

Hey Peeps. I was going to give you a story I wrote but today i just learned a valuable lesson: people get hurt even if you don't know it. Ok so here is the story: (I know this has nothing to do with mks, but i felt like God put this on my heart to share with you guys)

Names of the girls: N and C

Meh: K

The people we said we were: T and L

Two of my friends and i were chatting all together in a group chat (on email) then N messaged me in a private message, she said to play along at what she was talking about. So I did, we told C that there was this magical person she gave us everything, it got into detail. Then C started to get annoyed but N and K didn't really notice it, so we kept on going with the prank. Then she said " I'v got a feeling the you guys are not really N and K." Then N said "Ok you got us. I am T." "Ya I totes believe you" Replied C. "And i am L" K said. "Ya a bunch of people dared us to do this" Said N. It went  long way and finally 'T an L' said "we got to go." Then the  'real' N and K came 'back'. They said hi and stuff, then C asked "If you really N and K then long into fc" (Our school account) She sent us an email asking if T and L had hacked our account. We acted like we didn't know this, finally after a few more emails N finally told her that it was a joke. We thought she would laugh, but no. She messaged us back  and said " N I think you forgot that i am a sensitive person. You guys pranked me double time". She was super mad and sad, she didn't say that she forgave us. I messaged N back in private and we talked about how we didn't know she was going to take it that way. N told me she was crying. N sent an long email to C telling her sorry. So now we don't know even if C wants to chat any more, we now know it will be hard for her to trust us anymore. :(


Ok there you go. Yesh, this has nothing to do with being an mk. Try to concentrate on your friends feeling instead of what you're feeling. Many many people are sensitive like C and N and they might not tell people, try to think what you would do if some one did that to you. Just try.


If your having a hard time because something happened to you or some one did something to you, just remember, that if you have Jesus in your heart, you can look forward to heaven, eternal life. Always good and no hurt feelings. There is time to celebrate and many other happy things to do: all because of God! ;D

Hello everyone! My name is Katelyn. This is my first blog and my first post.  And you are going to see how an mk (Missionary Kids) lives. I am an mk, pk, and a tck.
