Dear 2016 and 2017.....

So I've seen alot go people doing this, so I decided to also. I mean not to copy anyone or anything, if you do think I am, please remember I am not doing it on purpose. (Also, I know this is very very late but I decided to do it anyway :D) Enjoyaaaa...



Dear 2016 and 2017,

I'm so happy that another year has passed, healthy and beautiful. I want to address you, 2016, first.

2016 was an interesting year, it had it's good and bads. I have to say I've had much better years than 2016. Goods, I grew closer to God, got to go to Thailand, met a new Bestie (online), and made so many new friends at my online school. Bads, my Bff moved, my sister went to college, I started to fall behind in school, and I was having problems with certain things. Now, each year has certain bad things and certain good things. No year will be perfect or all bad. Going onto your new year won't always help these things. You need God in your life, and Godly people.

So my final thoughts on 2016 are, even though it wasn't my best year, God had a plan for everything that happened that year.

One word to describe 2016: Hilly.

Now for 2017. I hope this year will be one of the better ones. I'm ready for the hardships, but I can't wait for the awesomeness. I'm praying that I will some how connect with my passion, find new friends, get rid of my habits, and learn that I have a meaning in life, that God chose me for a reason to come to where I am. 2017 might be a much better year, or an even worse one. But I know, if either one comes, I will still be standing strong.


My final thoughts on 2017 are, I hope to be able to stand up faithful and strong this whole year, no matter what comes and tries to make me fall down.

One word to hopefully describe 2017: Firm.

Depression

These are things I felt God telling me to write, please don't get mad at me if you don't agree with what I wrote, thank you :)

Alot of you have probably noticed that people are having depression. It could even be you going through depression. I want to help those people going through that right now. And encourage those who are helping them also.

Depression is not from God. It's something from the devil, that draws you away from God. But when you have Godly people in your life, it helps you. Depression can draw you away from God, but it can also draw you closer to God than you ever have been. (But I'm most definitely not saying that depression is good)  Remember when I posted about life being a tightrope? Well, depression is something that will make you slip. It will make you unbalanced. But once you get back on by God's help, you feel closer to God, and you put a tighter grip on his hand.

Why is there depression and things in the world? Well, it started with Adam and Eve sinning. It came with the curse. Of course, God did not create that. You don't hear alot about depression in the bible, but I'm pretty sure people had depression in the bible, they just didn't call it that. The bible doesn't directly talk about depression but there are many verses that apply to depression. I want to show you some and talk about them.

Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."

Alot of times, depression starts when the person says untrue things about themselves. Even other people telling them those things, such as, "You were an accident; you should be dead; why are loved, ha, you're the last person that should be loved, or even God doesn't love you no one does so get used to it you'll never be loved." Anything like that. Once those things go into their head they don't go out, they get bigger and bigger, taking over. The person starts to believe those things said to them. They are letting Satan take them over. They get stressed, start failing school, and they can start cutting. Cutting alot of times make them feel as if they're letting out stress, but God didn't create us to just to hurt ourselves or for people to hurt us. I say again, God created us for a purpose and a reason!!

Deuteronomy 31:8,  "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." 

Just like the verse says, God will never leave you. People her have depression also sometimes think that God has forgotten them. Or that they're not important enough to be known by God. Each and everyone is important to God. God will never ever leave one of you out. He knitted us together in our mother's womb. Of course, he didn't really knit us together. But they are saying that God knew what we were going to look like, do, and love. He knows what's ahead of us and he knows what's behind us. He leads us on a straight path, but we don't always listen. We can take another road, and that leads to where we are, depression. But then God comes and saves us, he redirects us.

Psalm 34:17, "The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles."  

When God hears your prayers, your cries for help, he will answer them. I know, "But I have been calling, he still hasn't answered," you say. God doesn't always answer right after your cries. God's timing is perfect, not like our timing. God knows what time your prayers need to be answered, it could be soon after, or in time. We just have to be patience and trust in God, he knows what we need and when we need it. It might seem like years, and it might be years. He wants your trust to grow in him. Your love for him to grow, and he wants you to grow in his image, and grow to be more like him. He tells us in the bible that no one is perfect, but his children must grow in his image, to become like him.

John 16:33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

And

Romans 8:38-39,"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

These two verses have similar meanings. God is telling us that nothing can take us away from him. We can fall away from him, but there will never be anything that will take us away from God forever. The Lord is the ruler of the whole universe. He can do anything, nothing is impossible for God; and there is no one who can stop him. This is hard for us to believe, because, on earth, people have limitations. We can be afraid of many things, but nothing can make God afraid. He will take care of his children, he is the Shepherd and we are the Lambs. The Shepherd will never leave his Lamb to be eaten by the wolf. Christians get hurt, killed, and many other things from the evil people. But do you know what happen to the people are get hurt? They get to help others going through the same situation, their trust grows in the Lord.  What happens to the killed? They go to the perfect place, Heaven. There is no evil there, no sickness, sadness, madness, or anything like that. God is there, and Heaven is perfect. We will live there for forever, which is also hard for us to understand. On earth, there is an end to everything. There is no end to heaven, and there is no end to the people who go up to Heaven. Everything happens for a reason.

Asking God

When you ask God a question, or ask him what do do, how do you hear him, or know what he's saying?


1, If you ask God a question that is a yes or no question (example: should i go on a mission trip or stay home and save money?), you'll feel peaceful about the right answer.

2, You feel God speaking to you through the bible.

3, He speaks to you through someone.

4, You hear him audibly.



1, Alot times you'll ask God a question. Sometimes when you pray about the right answer, you feel peaceful, and every weight on your shoulders has been lifted, then you should know your answer. When you pray about the other answer you'll feel as if weight is just being added onto you, and this answer is not from God. Sometimes you don't feel anything. Then maybe you need to read your bible and talk to your pastor.

2, Reading the Bible is a great thing. God can speak to you through the the verses your reading. Some people come up and say, 'God is telling me to tell you to read _________" And once you read that Verse or whatever, you'll feel what God is telling you. Have you guy's read your whole bible? Did you just read because you had and you didn't really think about what God is telling you. Read that bible, and really think about what's in the bible.

3, Alot times God will come to another person, and tell them to tell someone something. He could do that to you. They'll come to you and say 'I feel like God is telling em tell you ____" or something. Or they could come and give you a bible verse, like I said above. Now, if someone comes to you and tells you not to do something, but you feel like God is telling you to do it. Then I think you need to pray some more and really talk to God.

4, Now, this happened ALOT in the bible, but it's not as common now. God still talks to you audibly, or he sends an angel down. But most of the time, God speaks to someone another way. God could totally still talk to you audibly. I'm not saying it's impossible, i'm just saying don't believe the only way God will talk to you is audibly. That is not true. God can speak to you through anything. A picture, a person, a article, a video, a message, a verse, and a trip even. God can do anything.


I've never really had God talk to me yet. But I believe that one day, i'm going to need help, and he's the one i'm going to go to, and he's going to talk to me.

The Tightrope Called Life

Life is like a tightrope. I know, weird, but just finish reading this post, you'll understand.


Your walking a a tightrope. Not alone, God's there holding your hand. He's there balancing you. And if you let go, he'll stay and walk beside you. If you fall, there's always a way up. If a person helps you back up, catches you, or even if you climb a tree. There's a way, just keep looking. And once you get back up, you have God, you can tighten your grip on his hand. And when you reach the end, you'll have peace and joy forever. If you keep your hold on God and Jesus.


This came to me when I was praying one night at a conference this month. Ya'll are welcome to use it. :)
